My Six Flags Adventure and Cafeteria (as in the place from Sex and the City not that I knew, that I needed to be told!)
So on Saturday I went to a theme park called six flags in New Jersey. This required me waking up early on a SATURDAY and then going for a longish journey to this theme park. I woke up and left the apartment at 7:15 and got on the train to a place called Newark. From there we were able to book on to a bus and buy our tickets for the park at the same time with a company called Great Adventures! It was certainly going to be a “great adventure”. We got on the bus for a journey that was about to take another 1h 15. All this travelling was worth it because even though I tend to shy away from the big scary rides and stick to the teacups I still enjoy the atmosphere you get in a theme park. Well we got there had a great time except for the fact that two rides broke down, the first one I wouldn’t go on but my friends queued up for over an hour only for them to not be able to get on it, but then the same thing happened to me when I was queing up for the log flume which is my favourite ride. People were trapped on the ride and they had to let the water out so that people could walk off the ride. Quite an interesting sight but I had been in the que for ages, then when I get near the front the blerdy ride breaks down. Still it could be worse I could have been one of those trapped on it. So even though I didn’t get to go on my favourite ride I still went on the carousel and the teacups and the runaway mine train so I had a good time all round. Oh and I got soaked all the way through on the river rapids. Great fun luckily it was a really hot day so it didn’t bother me at all! In the end I didn’t get home until around 11 and after such a long day I decided it wasn’t worth going out for a night on the town. It felt strange not doing anything on a Saturday night but these things happen. Sometimes you go out and sometimes you don’t that’s the way of the world and all should heed to my words of wisdom!!!
On sunday I went to a place called Cafeteria for brunch. For those of you who like Sex and the City you’ll know that this is apparently the place where they go. It is very nice and you can see why it was chosen to be on the show. The food is good, the service is good and as usual you can have a cocktail for brunch if you want. I find it funny how we have such a bad drinking culture in the UK compared to the US, when you get people drinking during the day here. I guess it’s because over here they spread it over the day rather than binge and get a bit lairy, shout at the police, be sick on the road and just be a general nuisance! I think Cafeteria is a place that anyone who wants to, can take me for something to eat if they want to of course!
Oh well got loads planned over the next few weeks if all comes off. Think Atlantic City, the Federal Reserve, prohibition bars and the like. Let’s see where New York takes me next…….
