A Quiet Week for Once!

This post is going to be much shorter than most but firstly I forgot to add something to last weeks post, which was when I went to a comedy club in Greenwich Village.  We went to the club at 1 in the morning and this wasn’t a broadway comedy club, not an off broadway comedy club but an off off broadway club in a dunky underground bar.  I didn’t expect too much but some of the comedians had been on tv so you expected them to be alright.  They were less than alright.  They couldn’t handle the banter, in fact they seemed to take banter quite badly, and one of them felt we weren’t laughing enough so he got angry and pretty much walked off even though we had paid for it.  It was a good idea to go out but a rubbish comedy club.  In fact the comedians were saying to us afterwars that they were bad and we could get in free another time.  Says a lot for the type of comedians that they are I think!

Anyway, the only thing I really did of note this week was when I went to see the Little Mermaid on Broadway.  On the way to the theatre after work I dropped off in China town to see some footballers and basketball players having a football (soccer) match.  I saw Flamini, Babel and Edgar Davids.  I only went there to see Thierry Henry but apparently he was injured so he didn’t play much.  I was there at the beginning and didn’t see him playing so I went off to the theatre.  Apparently he was there so it was a shame to not see him but it was interesting seeing those players at close range.  Rubbish match though.  It was one of those charity matches.  So I went straight up to Times Square to catch the Little mermaid and what a production it is.  I love the theatre and it is definitely a must see if you visit New York.  It’s a relatively new production  so it was nice to see it.  There is something very cool about finishing work and then going to the theatre.  I loved it and I am definitely going to do it again.  Lion King and Wicked is next on the agenda!

So, the reason why I have nothing else to say is because for the first time since arriving on these shores I decided to have a restful weekend.  I literally did nothing and I am glad I did it.  Problem doing this was I felt terrible on Monday and Tuesday because I had stopped doing things all the time but I’m fine now so no need to worry there.

This weekend will be a bit more interesting with the 4th July celebrations and tonight I’m off to Atlantic City for a spot of gambling.  All in all a fun weekend ahead!
