The Danger Party, Finally Joining the Gym and RA Success Woooo…
Okay so the weekends are getting tough for me. I’ve had one day off since being here and that was a bank holiday. It seems like I get to the weekend and I get tired from the week I’ve had so you’ll be pleased to know I’m booking a day off work in the next couple of weeks, to help me catch up on my sleep. Anyway, enough of the sleep chat, onto the danger party. The danger party is an “illegal party” on a big boat in the middle of Brooklyn. You basically sign up on a website and it tells you where to go, which is to this warehouse in Brooklyn. You walk into this warehouse and it’s got candles around the place, ambient weird music and it’s got this general cool vibe about it. It takes you to the back where you pay $20 to get into this party. You then proceed back to the front where a van picks you up and takes you down the road to this boat on the canal. On this boat you can pretty much go wherever you like and it’s quite big. It seemed like a really well organised party. They do this party every couple of weeks. It has great security and everyone is having a good time. There were things like brass band and other weird stuff that you wouldn’t expect at a party like that but it was good to be able to go somewhere really different for once!
Two other personal things have happened this week. The first thing is I finally got round to joining the gym and hopefully by the time I get back to the UK I will be incredibly fit as well as gaining amazing experience so we’ll see how long I keep it up for. Went for a 2 mile run on the treadmill today which is pretty good for me really. The other personal thing is I am going to be RA (resident assisstant) of my very own flat. This means that from September when my current RA leaves I will takeover and look after the flat as well as getting my own room so it’s great woooooo!
I’m suffering at the moment with mosquito bites. If I see the mosquito that gave me 6 bites on my arms that mosquito will wish it had never bitten me in the first place!
