Seeing the UN Building, Shakespeare Can be a Bit Dull, Comedy Central Gig and Managing Info…

Well on Saturday I met up with my friend Daria from the September intake.  If it wasn’t for her I would never have known about Mounbatten and therefore never have been here to have the blerdy amazing time that I am having here!  Anyway, we decided to go for a walk around Manhattan.  I wanted to see the UN Headquarters so we took a walk there first.  On our way there we stopped off at a place in NY called Tudor City.  It’s a place that seems pretty chilled out and the buildings are of tudor design, but they’re still tall so a mix of modern and tudor.  It’s a nice place to sit down and relax from the hustle and bustle of NYC so it was a good place to stop off at.  Anyway, the UN, which is a very big yet uninteresting building.  There were no flags up so nobody important in town but at least I can now say I have seen it.  I am hoping to be able to go inside it soon then I will have more to write on it.  The UN Building is right on the east side of Manhattan and we decided to walk to the other side of Manhattan on the west side and up about 40 blocks.  This is a very very long walk but was nice.  The reason to walk to the other side was because there was some free shakespeare going on.  I really don’t get it like I don’t get art but I can understand why people might like it.  Needless to say we didn’t stay very long and headed back home!

On Sunday me and my friends got free tickets to see a comedy night.  This was being filmed for comedy central so it was going to be a lot better quality than that crappy comedy corner that was off off Broadway!  This was an interesting night.  It was interesting to see all the cameras whirling around over your head.  On our way in they were very adament that we wouldn’t be allowed to go to the toilet so we had to go before we went in otherwise we’d be in a lot of trouble!  Anyway, I was fine and had a pretty good and memorable time.

Part of my visa requirement as you know is to do academic work, so I’ve been quite busy with managing information recently.  This is not fun when you just want to be out having a good time but you are having to stay in, in order to do your work.  Anyway, it’s done now and I’ve got fun stuff coming up to talk about so stay tuned for more I promise!!!
