Roller Disco in Brooklyn and the new Family!
Okay so I’ve been waiting to get some pictures from people to put up from the weekend but I haven’t been able to get any yet even though loads were taken, so this is why I am putting this blog up later than normal! I’ll put the pictures up once I have them so don’t you worry about that!
So anyway, at the weekend I went to a roller disco. I was pretty tired because it was Friday night after a long hard week at work but I still made it out and had an amazing time. We went to a club in Brooklyn (this was the first time I’ve been to Brooklyn. It’s really not that bad actually quite nice and all the buildings are no more than 3 stories high so it’s quite different to Manhattan.) So for this night I had to dress up in “80’s”. I don’t normally dress up so when I do dress up I really don’t make much of an effort so all I did was wear a yellow “I love NY” t-shirt, some colourful kids sunglasses and a visor on sideways to try and make myself look cool. Quite an effort for me I actually think I pulled off being cool!!!!! Anyway, this club was pretty good. It was in the middle of no where in what was probably a warehouse conversion and I didn’t get to skate because they ran out of them surprise surprise so I had to settle for my own feet which gets a bit boring from time to time! They played some pretty cool 80’s music so got my boogy on and danced the night away in the only way that I know how!
Saturday was probably the nicest day of the year so far. Really hot and sunny and I was wearing my shorts for the first time. I was going to go to Central Park unfortunately this was moving day for me. My previous flat mates moved out because their time here ran out and they got replaced by some other interns from the September intake. I had to move from the 2 bed to the 3 bed room in my apartment because this is the way it was always going to go. The place I now live in is pretty swanky. It was pretty messy before, I liked it but now it is clean and smells good and we have great furniture and the people that have moved in are also cool so it’s all good. Shame the last people had to move on but that’s the way things are! So on Sunday we had our first meal together named our “ family meal”! We made Fajitas which were awesome and had another good night. This is another thing that I want to show you some pictures of so when I get them you’ll see them you know you will!
Best go to bed now and relax another day at work tomorrow. I have now survived 3 days on my own without the guy who was working with me because he had to leave like the other interns I lived with so I’m surviving! Anyway, relax, take it easy and I’ll chat soon lovely people!!!!
